Vaping,  a growing habit practiced by at least 10 million Americans and about 30 millions worldwide. The good news: more than two million of them doesn’t smoke cigarettes any more. For these people, vaping means a life-changing invention.


On the other hand, for non smokers, vaping helps improve the experience of being around smokers. The fruity aromas of vaping are definitely more pleasant than the smell of tobacco.


Although there are social benefits to vaping, people worry about the risks. One concern is that vaping could be the gateway to smoking for teenagers; however, surveys have shown that less than one percent of teen vapers ever become smokers. Health associations are worried about unexpected risks since this practice is relatively new. The Public Health England and the Royal College of Physicians have declared that vaping is “unlikely to exceed five percent of the harm from smoking tobacco.” Vaping enthusiasts say that most of the potential dangers that people point out are false. Most of them worry about toxins that vapor may contain, but the experts explain that the toxin quantity is low, as low as the amount of toxins you breathe and eat every day. Considering this, should we fear for that minimum percentage of harm or value the benefits for public health?


The truth is that vaping is still a very recent practice, there are still many studies to be done to ensure that it is completely safe, nevertheless, it is a fact that for those who switched from tobacco to vaping, it means a considerable reduction in the damage to their health.
