Mexico as an attractive investment destination
Mexico has become a country of great opportunity for foreign investment due its
proximity to the United States, its large economy, bilingualism, the highly talented labor force and the important and numerous trade agreements that it has.
Despite the issues related to organized crime and corruption, Mexico is the world’s fifteenth largest foreign direct investment (FDI) recipient according to the 2016 World Investment Report. The political reforms implemented since 2014 in energy, entrepreneurship and specifically foreign investment, make it a good choice for investors.
The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors (Summer Edition 2015) stated that the reasons mentioned above is why the FDI for huge OEM’s and other large manufacturing companies are still arriving every year. The Society of Industrial and Office Realtors explains that the “country’s macroeconomics are in good shape; foreign visitors keep coming back to visit despite the unsavory news headlines; foreign governments are actively courting trade and commerce with Mexico” and according to statistics, the crime level is lower than in the United States.
Mexico has important Free Trades, such as NAFTA, that place it in an advantageous position in respect to Asia. The benefits of NAFTA as well as the low cost of establishment, the exceptional high quality of manufacturing and the foreign friendly policies make Mexico into the ideal country for businesses to break into new markets and expand to the Americas.
